Who is it for?

Our Toy Library & Parent Resource Centre provides support services to parents and caregivers of children with special needs (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD and development delays). We feature a wide range of toys that encourage imaginative play, gross motor, fine motor and communication/language development as well as children books and videos. We also have a collection of books and reference materials for parents/caregivers.

Other support services available:

  • Assessments and Referrals
  • Awareness and Training Programmes
  • Home Visits and Home Based Support
  • Early Intervention Support
  • Parent Support
  • Play Activities
  • Resource books available for sale

Category of toys available for loan:

  • Infant / Sensory Stimulation
  • Gross Motor Skills
  • Jigsaw and Puzzles
  • Matching, Sorting and Grading
  • Eye-Hand Coordination
  • Speech and Language Development
  • Imaginative Play
  • Games and Leisure
  • Reading, Writing and Spelling
  • Early Mathematics
  • Musical Instruments
  • Audio-Visual

We hope to see this service replicated in different locations so that more parents with children with special needs can receive support. To this end, we have helped 2 partners to set up centres in Subang Jaya (Makasih) and Kota Kinabalu (Handprints). You could engineer the start-up of a centre! Malaysian Care has keen interest to engage with more churches to set up similar centres or Parent Support Groups in their community to bridge the gap.
